We are at the end of the year again, so our campus is preparing for our annual AVID review and certification. This year our Secondary Coaching and Certification Instrument has changed with the goal of providing a system that impacts more students through the implementation of AVID schoolwide.
This is where your input is truly appreciated.
Could you please take a few minutes to complete the attached survey? Your input will provide documentation for us to use for our certification. It will also allow us to laser focus on areas that we may want to refine campus-wide.
Our goal is 100% participation by Wednesday, April 18th. This will allow me time to filter through the data and add to our CTMS Campus Showcase! Paras: We want to hear from you as well! Thanks for your support! I will let you know how things go on May 2!

Summer Learning Institute 2018
Dr. Newell has sent out a call for presentation proposals for the Summer 2018 Learning Institute. We need approximately 400 sessions and we need the learning to be from those who really know and do the work! Teachers - we need YOU! Please consider sharing your strengths and skills in a learning session. This year sessions are of varied lengths to best meet our needs - so you can present something short and sweet or something of depth. We must have our proposals submitted by May 1 so we can end the year and leave for summer with the #GCLI18 ready to go!
If you would like to meet with me to brainstorm and think through your ideas and proposals, I would LOVE to! Please email me for a time to meet!
When we meet, we can:
- Talk about what the conference and the presentation entails.
- Brainstorm potential ideas for you to present.
- Refine a current idea you have.
- Make decisions such as: which session style to choose, who you might ask to co-present and who your audience might be.
- Review or write your title and project description.
- Review the proposal form together. proposal form
- Or simply just get the proposal submitted! (It will feel so good to mark it off your to-do list!)
Summer Job Opportunity- $50/ Hr
Meredith Godoi, a Colleyville mom, started a company last year to help teachers supplement their income during the summer. Teachers will make $50/hr tutoring from June-August and it's all local!
The purpose of summer tutoring is to keep small brains fresh during the summer and prepare kids for the upcoming year.
Please help pass the word around to the teachers. They can work just a few hours a week and take off for vacations.
Here is a website to learn more www.excel4summer.com.
Thanks for your help,
Meredith Godoi
