In order to sign up for one of these sports, the athlete will need to fill out this survey, https://forms.gle/vFwR5uT14GHD6E9S8 before Wednesday March 31st.
We will begin practices on Monday, April 5th. As the numbers of athletes become finalized, we will send out practice schedules. All athletes will need our Interscholastic Permission form, and a well exam within the past 2 years.
Please email Kevin Barber, kbarber@ewsd.org, with any questions.

EJRP News
Wondering what to do with your middle schooler this summer? Let them enjoy a summer filled with activities and experiences specifically geared towards middle school aged youth. We have two exciting opportunities for middle schoolers this summer:
- Camp STAR: For students entering grades 6-9. Based out of ADL Middle School, this camp features a morning swim program at Maple Street Park, a weekly field trip, group activities, arts, sports, and outdoor experiences catered to the many unique interests of these middle schoolers. Campers will be active and engaged in a variety of ways to make the summer fly by!
- Camp Venture: For students entering grades 4-6. Enjoy some of the many opportunities for outdoor exploration this great state has to offer! Each week, campers will experience a variety of adventurous outdoor pursuits such as mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, visiting swimming holes, learning survival skills, and so much more. While pick-up and drop-off will happen at a central location, this camp spends the entirety of the day off-site, departing at 8:30 and returning by 4:30. We will travel to a new destination every day to experience beautiful scenery and exciting thrills, and this will include a full day each week at Essex Rec’s very own Indian Brook Reservoir. Your camper will come home exhausted, exhilarated, and eager for more!
For details about cost, hours, dates, and more, please visit www.essexrec.org to view our brochure. The brochure will be live online on Friday, 2/12, at which point the Request for Registration survey will be live as well. The form will close on 2/28. The link to the Request for Registration form will also be located at www.essexrec.org. There are hard copies of the brochure at the office at both EMS and ADL that your student can pick up, or you can pick one up by stopping by the Essex Rec service window at 75 Maple Street between 10-2 weekdays..
Essex Rec utilizes an online registration format to alleviate long lines and wait time. Families will have two weeks to fill out the electronic Request for Registration form. The order of when the form is completed will have no effect on registration status, as Essex Rec awards participation credits and enrolls families based on this credit score. More information about this process can be found on the Registration Information page of the brochure. Please note: Completing the request for registration form does not, in any way, guarantee your child a spot in one of Essex Rec’s Full Day Licensed Summer Camps. We will begin calling families who have filled out the form for formal registration starting the week of March 1.
We are excited for another fun summer and can’t wait to see many of you there! Please email Maureen Gillard at mgillard@ejrp.org with any additional questions.
