In the Classroom
Ms. Leskee's Art Class:
Our 6th graders are wrapping up a sculpture project where they chose which material they wanted to make a project out of. Their options included modeling clay, wire, yarn, paper mache, found objects and cardboard. These creative projects will be on display on the 3rd floor of the SILC building for a few weeks before they come home.
Activities and Athletics
Wrestling:
Wrestling pictures will be on Monday, February 14th after school. The first home wrestling meet of the season will be Tuesday, February 15th at 4pm against RMCA. Go Mustangs!
Forensics:
The MSMS Forensics Team is headed to their third tournament on Saturday, February 12, at Challenger Middles School. Good luck Forensics Mustangs!

Parent Action Committee Mini-Grants for Teachers
One of the great things our PAC does is support students by providing mini-grants to teachers for up to $250 dollars. At this week's meeting, PAC approved 3 mini-grants for our middle school. Check out the awesome grants that were awarded to us:
Mrs. Greene - $250 awarded to purchase supplies for a spring STEAM night at MSMS
Ms. Stuart - $250 awarded to purchase an online learning platform for Spanish acquisition as well as books for classroom library
Language Arts Department - $250 awarded to purchase high-interest books for middle school students

Canvas Parent Portal:
Did you know Canvas has a parent portal where you can find valuable classroom information to support your student such as: assignments, grades, classroom notes, and assessments? Follow the instructions below to create your parent account:
1. Have your student get you a “pairing code” from their account
a. In the student account, go to Account -> Settings -> Pair with observer
b. Copy that code
2. Now go to the Canvas login page (https://mssd14.instructure.com/login/ldap)
a. Go to “click here for an account” in the top right corner
b. Enter your information (including the pairing code)
c. Click “start participating”
