What did we learn this week?
Math: Students continued with math rotations.
Social Studies: Students continued learning about Animal Welfare. Students continued working on their iMovie commercials.
Science: Students learned how Earth materials (cobbles, pebbles, gravel, sand and silt) are found in other building materials. They performed a scavenger hunt around the school grounds to find various materials.
Literacy: Students worked on finding playful and creative language in text. This included idioms, similes, metaphors, alliteration, and repetition.
Writing: Students continued writing letters about their reading. They began to publish their letters.

What's Ahead?
Math: Students will continue with math rotations, Rocket Math (fact fluency practice), Number of the Day problems, and Number Talks.
Social Studies: Students will continue working on their public service announcement for our service learning project.
Science: Students will learn how people use rocks as a natural resource to construct objects and useful materials. Students will also begin observing sandpaper and compare it to real sand.
Literacy: Students will begin learning how to run a literature circle.
Writing: Students will begin writing their book nominations for the Book Oscars.
