The Harmon Herald

21st Edition 2.19.16

Opening Thoughts...

I believe we opened the week with a successful professional learning day. Speed dating and the well-led sessions were enjoyable, relaxing, and informative. My goal always is to give you an opportunity to learn from one another and enhance your instruction.

We had another successful week in registering students - thank you counselors and everyone for their flexibility with this process.

Please continue to advocate for all students, push them out of their of comfort zone, create strong and purposeful learning opportunities, and have fun! Please continue to involve the counselors and administrators with students who are struggling (and parents) - we are here to support you!

PediPlace Fundraiser

In efforts to help with the PediPlace Fundraiser, StuCo is holding a silent auction in the teacher's lounge next week. Some of the items up for auction are College Ceiling tiles, artwork, baked goods as well as many others. A few of the products will just be pictures of the items you will receive if you win i.e. the baked goods. The auction will begin Monday, February 22nd and will close Friday, February 26th at 3:30p.m.

We would LOVE it if you would like to donate any items to the silent auction. Please email Ms. Brittain what the item is, a picture and how much the item is worth so we can price it at the right amount. Again, all proceeds will be going to the PediPlace so if there is anything you would like to give for the cause, we would greatly appreciate it!

Walking Wednesday Reminder - March 2nd

After reading chapters 8 & 9 in Mindsets in the Classroom, we want to give you the opportunity to examine a couple of your student’s mindsets. These two chapters focus on how we can support our students to have a growth mindset. So let’s flip Walking Wednesday!

Choose 1 – 2 students in your current classes whom you would like to observe and better support their mindset. Over the month of February, observe 1 student twice OR 2 students in different classes so that you will have a total of 2 observations to report in the following form. (You will have to use this form twice to submit both observations.)

Please be sure to take a look at the form before and during your 2 observations. Your observations should be completed before we meet on Wednesday 3/2/16. We hope you enjoy the change in format and the opportunity to grow your mindset : )
