Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
What a wonderful week it has been here at CCES. This week, we celebrated Teacher Appreciation 2017. Thank you to all of the students, families, and volunteers who brought in special treats and cards daily. On behalf of our entire staff, we want to say thank you for a delicious lunch on Wednesday provided by our families. You made us all feel so special.
We are nearing the end of such a great school year and the events keep coming. This week, we had special performances from our kindergarteners and Chorus/Orff students on two separate nights. Thanks to our music teachers, Mr. DeStefano and Mrs. Ingraham, for preparing our children to showcase their talents. Both evenings were outstanding!
Today, we celebrated our volunteers who do so much for our school community throughout the year. From leading in the science lab, to organizing copies, to volunteering in the media center or becoming a mystery reader, your help is appreciated! There is so much our volunteers do behind the scenes to make our school run efficiently. We appreciate you more than words could describe. Thanks to all of the volunteers who could join us for a special breakfast this morning.
In honor of Mother’s Day, I want to recognize all of our CCES moms and thank them for the hard work they do each day. Being a mom in itself is a full time job and I have so much admiration for all of you who do it day in and day out. I hope you have a special weekend with your family that includes some relaxation.
Again, please make sure you have marked your calendars for Field Day and class parties. We hope to see you at one or both events. Have a fantastic weekend!
Invitation to Field Day Opening Ceremonies
You are invited to the opening ceremonies for Field Day on Thursday morning, May 18th, at 8 am on the back field. The ceremonies will last about 45 minutes.
All are welcome!

NWMS Spring Chorus Concert

It’s going to be a great show you don’t want to miss on Monday, May 15, 7pm, Milton High School Auditorium. Admission is free. We hope to see you there and we would love for rising 6th graders to sing with us next year! Please email Ms. Grant at grants@fultonschools.org to register for 2017-18 6th grade chorus at NMS. Student Release Days 2017-18
CCES will have three full student release days for the 2017-2018 school year. These dates are: September 1, October 5, and March 8. All of these dates coincide with a long weekend. Please keep in mind, student attendance has an impact on our school score; otherwise, known as CCRPI. We strongly encourage you to take a look at the FCS calendar and make plans for extended vacations on these dates if possible. Our SGC strategically picked these dates to align with Milton and Northwestern; therefore, all students are out of school making travel easier for our families. We appreciate your consideration as we strive to make student attendance a priority.
