Welcome back!

We are excited for you to join us this academic year as we prepare to educate over 200 social work students across the state and in Guam!

In our first issue of Field Notes, we are providing information regarding our upcoming Field Instructor Orientation and Field Supervision 101 training series.

The semester is right around the corner with students anticipated to start their placement on, or after, Tuesday, September 2 (MSW students), and August 26 (BSW students).

About Field Instructor Orientation

Each semester we hold a required orientation for Field Instructors and Site Supervisors. This year we will be holding the orientation both in-person at Gartley Hall and streaming via Zoom. Please sign-up to attend in-person or virtually. A recording will be made available following the event.

Field Supervision 101

Friday, Sep. 13th, 1-4:30pm

2430 Campus Road, Honolulu, HI, USA (Room Number Information to follow)

This training series is offered in two formats, face-to-face on September 13 & 20, and virtually online via Zoom each Thursday from 12-1pm beginning August 29 and ending October 3.

About Field Supervision 101

This marks our third year providing the Field Supervision 101 training series. Each year we've updated the slides based on feedback we've received and have tried different formats to meet the demanding schedules of our Field Faculty.

This year we are excited to offer the Field Supervision 101 training series as either a two-day three-hour workshop or six one-hour webinars over a 6 week period.

We will also be piloting a new asynchronous version of the training this fall. More details to come during the Field Instructor Orientation.
