Types of Network Hardwares
By Camille
ROUTER
A router is a hardware who transfers one network to another network.
A router has a micro-computer inside it which holds a table in memory with networks with all the network it is connected to.
When a data pack arrives the router it reads the data packet then the router looks if the address is available and then it checks how busy the paths are on that moment then it sends data of the packet to the fastest path.
BRIDGE
A bridge connects two networks together.
It is kind of the same as a router but less capable and less expensive.
REPEATER
A repeater is used to join networks. Networks have maximum useable length when it goes further the network gets weak, to fix this they use repeaters because they join networks together.
