ACP Data

Pershing Teachers are consistently pushing the bar of high expectations, explicit instruction through mindfully crafted lessons, a focus on the learning objects and demonstration of learning by our students with meaningful work. This could not have been more clear than with our ACP Semester campus results. Of the 39 test given Pershing exceed passing rates of the feeder and the district in 27 tests.
A Record High!! Below are the number of tests by content and grade levels that were above the district and the feeder. KUDOS all around!!

Grade Level Meetings W/Hernandez

Thank you to team leaders for getting honest feedback from your grade levels on how to continue to make our school great. Yoshi and I received the feedback, categorized it and we will prioritize our next steps on the three low areas from the Fall Campus Climate Survey. Below are the three statements that we will focus on during our individual grade level meetings this week.
  1. The PD session at my school this year helped me improve instruction.
  2. I am satisfied with the recognition I receive for doing a good job.
  3. Morale at my school has improved this year.

Please see the schedule for your grade level.

ACP Writing Assessments

K-5th Reading/LA Teachers,

We have the ACP Writing Assessments for all students in K-5th grade. This year we will administer this writing tests as a formative assessment. It will not be turned into the district, but rather serve as a formative tool to assess our students and adjust our instruction.

· Class sets will be passed out by Ms. White along with the grading rubric

· Dates to administer will be the week of January 25-29

· Teachers will rate their own class using the rubric

· Teachers will submit updated class profiles to include 3rd marking period grades in reading, ACP Reading Test, and the ACP Writing score by Thursday Feb. 4, 2016.

· All rated writing samples are to be place in the student portfolios

Note: This information and expectations are being shared electronically based on feedback received from our climate survey to reduced the number of meetings for information that can be communicated via email . If you have any questions please see your team leader or Ms. Ray.

Close Individual RTI Plans on School Net

All teachers with open student intervention plans on school net are asked to make sure they are all completed and closed this week.
We will be moving some of these students forward in our next SST meeting. Ms. Wyrick will lead this work with individual teachers. Please see her if you have any questions.

Second Semester Calendar

As we enter the second have of the year with the semester 1 exams behind us, it is time to make some calendar adjustments. We will be looking at making decisions on when to give common assessments and when to give Mock STAAR assessments. I will share the suggested calendar with the staff in two groups (K-2nd and 3rd-5th) so that everyone can plan accordingly with their grade level or teams.
