NLRHS Arena HVAC Installation
The Board of Education approved a contract with Taggart Architect to add HVAC system in the NLRHS Charging Wildcat Arena. The project is expected to cost an estimated $1.2 million, which will be paid for with ESSER funds and state partnership funds.
NLRSD, Rock Region Metro Fare Agreement
Mr. Justin Avery, the Chief Executive Officer at Rock Region Metro, presented a potential agreement between the school district and bus system to provide fares free of charge to all high school students (NLR Academy, NLR Center of Excellence, NLRHS) in the NLRSD.
School Choice Enrollment Information
Dr. Torrye Hooper, the Deputy Superintendent; Mr. Gary Logan, the Executive Director of Student-Centered Support Services; and Dr. LeAnn Stoll, Executive Director of Special Services, provided the Board of Education with a presentation on school choice enrollment options for the 2023-2024 school year.
School Choice is used when parents are requesting a school in the North Little Rock School District but live outside of the North Little Rock School District boundary lines (Little Rock, Sherwood, Maumelle, Jacksonville, etc.).
The deadline to apply for School Choice is May 1, 2023.
School Board Governance
Mr. Joe Quinn, District Consultant and former member of the Bentonville Schools Board of Education, provided professional development for the Board of Education and the Superintendent based upon the 2019 book, The Governance Core: School Boards, Superintendents, and Schools Working Together by Davis Campbell and Michael Fullan.
