Song of the Enemy
"Gunpowder and Lead" by Miranda Lambert
"Gunpowder and Lead" Lyrics
I'm goin' home, gonna load my shotgun
Wait by the door and light a cigarette
If he wants a fight well now he's got one
And he ain't seen me crazy yet
He slapped my face and he shook me like a rag doll
Don't that sound like a real man
I'm going to show him what a little girls are made of
Gunpowder and lead
Wait by the door and light a cigarette
If he wants a fight well now he's got one
And he ain't seen me crazy yet
He slapped my face and he shook me like a rag doll
Don't that sound like a real man
I'm going to show him what a little girls are made of
Gunpowder and lead
His fist is big but my gun's bigger
Lyrics~~ Gun Powder and Lead
"Gunpowder and Lead": Song of the Enemy
Kino often hears the Song of the Enemy in the book, The Pearl. He hears this song whenever he feels someones invading there house. Once he has had the pearl for a while people try stealing it from him. When they do the Song of the Enemy plays like a warning. Overall, the Song of the Enemy portrays breaking in.
The song of the Enemy has some of the same thoughts as "Gunpowder and Lead". The man is not expecting that the girl will be waiting there with a shotgun and when he gets home. I bet he feels as if somethings wrong so he starts to throw punches. Just like when Kino feels something is wrong he takes his knife and stabs it.
