They were around in 1810 through the 1880's.

They create homes in the mountain, and hunt for fur during the day.
They were in the northern part of the rocky mountains.

A trap
This is a trap they used, which would squish a small animal.
A lot of men that hunted for fur, had experience with knives and bows.
Lots of men hunted beavers and other animals that have fur in the mountains. They always went for the fur just for the profit.
They moved west, because more people kept coming to the north and the pelt was running lower and lower.
They usually had horses when they went and hunted.

They weren't able to trap animals anymore in Europe, so they moved west.
They played a big roll on opening various emigrant trails and letting people create homes in land.
