La Petite École Anglaise
Cycle 3 Geography and History By: Sabrina McCoubrey (Gr. 6) & Léa Sheridan (Gr. 5)
With all this new knowledge I think we will be ready to cast our vote wisely when we turn 18!
Note: Ms. Fiset signed up for the Student Vote program. The students were taught how the process works and had the ballots and the boxes. They had to line up and give their information before voting - and the votes were counted! They were able to live the entire process, so now they know what to do when it comes time to vote in the future.
Council meeting: (Léa Sheridan) We had the opportunity to attend a council meeting. The councilors were very generous and kind. We were allowed to ask questions and say our concerns about Valcartier. They answered all our questions. We all enjoyed it!

Cycle 1 News By: Léa Sheridan (Grade 5)
The Farm to Table experience for our Cycle 1 students continues! We went apple and squash picking a few weeks ago, on October 21st, the students helped turn our apples into applesauce. They used an antique apple crusher to squeeze out all of the apple pulp into a pot. We then added sugar, cinnamon, allspice and cloves to make a delicious apple sauce. On Friday, November 29th during the Chili Supper, bottles of the applesauce will be on sale for $5.00. Proceeds will go back in to the classroom to continue our Farm to Table activities. Ms. Fréchette, Ms Jayne, Ms Lew and Ms Jenna also made some apple pies from the leftover apples. The pies will also be on sale at the Chili supper. $10 each. By: Jayne Doddridge

Liberation 75 Tulip
The idea behind the tulips is to plant 1.1 million tulips throughout Canada in honour of the 1.1 million Canadians who served during the Second World War. We now have a bed of 80 tulips and we will cross our fingers that they will bloom in the spring! Nature Club made sure the bulbs are protected by putting a thick layer of mulch on top of the soil. In the spring we will plant poppy seeds there as well.

Terry Fox Run By: Stella-Rose Bureau (Grade 5)
I will be talking about a man that had a lot of determination and perseverance. He had a mission to complete something nobody ever thought of doing. Terry Fox wanted to run across Canada. Some people said he was crazy, and some said the opposite. He wanted to raise money for cancer research. Even though he had an amputated leg, Terry would still run every day. If every Canadian gave 1 dollar, he would have raised 24.52 million dollars. But sadly he passed on. Since then Canadians have raised millions of dollars for cancer research in his name.
