Welcome back Track 3!. Hope you enjoyed your track out.
Tuesday, November 11th is a school holiday in honor of Veteran's Day. Enjoy the day off.
Thank You to everyone involved in the food preparation, set up and clean up of the early release day teacher luncheon that was held last Friday. The teachers are so thankful for this treat.
Thank You to Zaxby's in Holly Springs for hosting our 4th and 5th grade Grade Night Out. Hope all of our MCES families who attended enjoyed the night off from cooking.
Science Olympiad:
Any student in grades 3-5 can join Science Olympiad and take advantage of this great opportunity to learn about science and prepare for upcoming science requirements.
**Last info session before official registration for Science Olympiad tournament begins**

September : Wed., 9/17
We had fun learning about the upcoming Science Olympiad events as well as trying our hand at a new event: First in Flight
October : Wed., 10/15
Due to weather we changed our program to Science Charades and First in Flight for those who weren’t able to make the first session.
In order for your child to stay for any of these events (1) Please sign and return the registration form sent home with your student. (2) Email their teacher that they will be staying after school.

REFLECTIONS ART SHOW & AWARDS CEREMONY:
This year's annual Reflections Art Contest is underway. Five outside judges have begun judging 149 original works of art from 108 of MCES students!!! Another wonderful turnout of entries this year! 24 finalists will be announced on Thursday November 20th in the morning at school, whose works will advance to the Wake County level of the competition. A Family & Friends Awards Ceremony will be held that same evening, Th 11/20, from 6:30-7:30pm in the school's Gym with Refreshments to follow. There will be an art exhibit on display from mid November thru mid December in the school's Media Ctr to showcase all these awesome masterpieces! Good Luck to all our budding artists!!!

Father Daughter Dance:
Attention Parents!
It is that time of the year that we want to start gearing up for the Daddy Daughter Dance which is January 30, 2015.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the planning and work up front to make this the best Daddy Daughter Dance yet! To do this we will need lots of help.
Please send a note to dance@pavlik.us to volunteer. It does not matter if you have one hour or more, we really need your help to make this dance a success.
Please send your name, email address and phone number to dance@pavlik.us so that we begin to arrange some meetings to start planning!
Please also state if you would be willing to chair a sub-committee.
School Store Needs Volunteers:
School Store is looking for a few volunteers from tracks 1 and 2 to run the store on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. if you can help, please contact Stephanie Petty , stephaniepettyrn@yahoo.com

The school store sells little pencils, erasers, fun little school items for kids to purchase - prices range from $0.10 - $2.00, so kids can easily afford to buy something even with a little bit of pocket change. It is located at the end of the main hallway, adjacent to the 2nd grade hallway.
