College Credit Plus
Attention current 6th, 7th and 8th graders:
BMMS will be hosting a College Credit Plus testing day on Thursday, February 28. This is testing to see if students are ready to take an English class at the College level, which earns student's both college and high school credit.
There are several items that need to be completed in order to participate in this testing day:
- Complete the Intent to Participate form on the BCSD website.
- Complete your Tri-C application on line @ tri-c.edu
- Request your transcript from Mrs. Rinas in the School Counseling Office.
- Complete the Tri-C English Test Prep Packet, available on the BCSD website.
- Current 8th graders (only) who plan to take a CCP class on BMHS campus next school year, must ALSO COMPLETE an application to LCCC, as this is the institution that provides credit for CCP classes taken at BMHS. This application is paper/pencil and can be picked up in the BMMS School Counseling Office.
- By February 14, 2019: Submit items 1 and 2 electronically. Submit items 3, 4 and 5 to the BMMS School Counseling Office. There will be no extensions of the 2/14 deadline if you want to test at BMMS!!!

8th Grade Registration for High School
PE Waiver for Students Entering 9th Grade Next Year
EACH YEAR those students participating in the PE WAIVER option MUST complete a form.
Under legislation by the Ohio General Assembly, interscholastic sports, cheerleading, and after-school marching band may be used to fulfill the requirement for the physical education requirement for graduation.
In the Berea City Schools, only athletic programs sanctioned by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, cheerleading, and after-school marching band will be accepted for the PE Waiver.
High school students may request the opportunity to receive academic exemption for physical education by participating in any one of the above sanctioned activities in grades 9 -11.
Students MUST successfully complete the two season(s) in which they have elected to participate by the end of his/her JUNIOR year to qualify. Students complete the form using the @bereaschools.org email.
In order to facilitate accurate scheduling and record keeping, we require each student to fill out an exemption form as well as indicate PE Waiver on his/her course selection sheet annually.
This form must be completed by Saturday March 1st.
