Triathlon
Our school triathlon is next Friday 10th March at 12.45pm.
Could children please bring their bikes from Monday for our practices.
New Sports Gear
Thank you to Fern Fuels (Formerly South Fuels) for participating in the Fuel of Schools Campaign. A small percentage of fuel sales are donated to local schools. This year we were fortunate enough to be given a new mountain of sports equipment and a ki o rahi set!
Our Swimming Festival/Sports!
Thank you for all who attended our swimming festival. We were glad to show you our skills and hold a few races for you. Please let us know what you liked as we are always looking to improve!

Digital Waitaha will be running a community evening on the 20th of March. The digital world is an amazing place full of knowledge and entertainment. However the digital world is can also be a dangerous place for our young people. Please come along to learn strategies and techniques to keep our young people safe in the digital world.
Handwriting!
Handwriting has become somewhat of a lost art. We worked with Dr Helen Wall in 2022, and she explained the importance of neat, clear, and automaticity when writing. Check out the Korimako class' mahi!
Responsibility
One of our values at Carew Peel Forest School is Responsibility - we teach design and teach lessons that encourage our learners to be self-disiplined and a self-manager. Here the Piwakawaka class are learning to follow routines and stick with activities!
Story Telling!
The Pukeko Room has been learning all about the Treaty of Waitangi. Check out the mahi!
We have an expert in story telling visitng on Wednesday to work with the Tarahaoa hub - exciting times!
Flood Relief
Our Vision - Caring for Ourselves, Our Learning, Our Community, Our World is part of our curriculum and sits at the heart of all we do. Thank you to all who donated at our school sausage sizzle. Fresh Choice Geraldine kindly discounted the cost of the sausages to help with our effort. All together we raised over $390 - Ka mau te wehi team!
Bus Messages
All bus messages must be communicated with the school office please. Via txt to 027 6963557, phone or email. Communication is important for us to keep everyone safe!
Our School APP
We are moving with the times and now have a school app! It is the best way to communicate. Please download it as we will be using it a lot! You can use it to receive messages and lets us know about absences.

Learning comes in all forms at Carew Peel Forest
We have been eradicating white butterflies at school as they are a pest to our garden. Some students took it a step further and helped feed a friendly spider!
