a note from the principal
I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather despite the yellow craze that is upon us!
Report Cards
Please be reminded that student report cards are now available in the Parent Portal. If you have any questions about how to access it, please contact Leah Rubow and Leah.Rubow@dpsnc.net.
Student Laptops
Please don't forget to send your child's Chromebook back to school fully charged. They are used for a variety of activities over the course of the day, especially during the specials classes and if they are not charged, your child is not able to participate in the lesson.
Covid Testing on Site at Easley
Durham Public Schools is pleased to announce that Ottendorf Labs LLC has agreed to provide free testing for COVID-19 at DPS schools. DPS school sites will begin testing in staggered, scheduled rotations this week. Testing site schedules are being finalized and will be shared via social media and made available on the DPS website and individual school websites.
The attached flyer provides information about how to register and provide consent for your child to be tested by Ottendorf. Testing is free of charge with results expected within 24 hours. To register a student and provide parental consent, please visit https://ottendorf-lab.com/dps/.
Testing at school sites provides an additional layer of protection. We are committed to the health and well-being of every student and staff member, and we will continue to collaborate with organizations to keep the DPS and Durham communities safe. Please also note this is not the deep nasal test. The nasal swap is only inserted a half an inch, so it is painless. Once we have the schedule for Easley, I will be sure to let you know. If you are willing to have your child tested when we have the lab onsite, please complete the registration; you only have to register once to have your child participate each week.

2021-2022 Intent survey - If you have not already done so.
We are currently in the process of planning for next school year. In doing so, we need to have an accurate count of the number of students who are planning to return to Easley next school year (2021-2022). Accurate student numbers will ensure that we do not lose teaching staff and instructional positions. Thus, your participation in this brief survey is very important!
We have also included a section for you to provide any information you think we need to know about your child when making class placements for next year. Please do not make requests for specific teachers. The only exception is if an older child had a teacher who you would like us to consider for the younger sibling. We do our bests to honor sibling requests, but please know there is no guarantee as we have a very involved process for creating class rosters. Please complete this survey by April 10th.
