Dealey Dragon Update
NEWS YOU CAN USE - DECEMBER
Message from the Principal
Dealey Parents,
I can't believe we are almost finished with the first semester! Our Winter Break will be here before we know it.
The next couple of weeks will be extremely busy here at Dealey as we prepare for the end of the semester. We have many after school programs and events. Please see the calendar below and do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions about event times, dates, or details.
We will end the semester by taking our district ACP exams. I have include our tentative testing schedule as well. These exams will give us data to use as we plan for the second semester and work to cover all of the skills needed for students to be prepared for the next grade level. We will keep you posted about our overall school results.
Thanks again for all of your support this first semester!
Sincerely,
Beverly Lusk
Principal

What is Hour of Code?
We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. But only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and less students are studying it than a decade ago.
Because Dealey students need these 21st century skills, we are joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 7-13). More than 100 million students worldwide have already tried an Hour of Code. During this week, every Dealey student will spend at least one hour in the computer lab to work through a tutorial at http://hourofcode.com/us.
This is a chance to change the future of education in Dallas. See http://hourofcode.com/us for details, and help spread the word.
Participating schools and teachers are eligible to receive prizes. Thank you, Ms. Bourenane, for getting Dealey involved in this event!
Thanks for your help with the chocolate sales! Less than 10 boxes left!
