Excellence In All We Do 12/4/20
Friday Afternoon
As you hopefully have heard by now, we have had our first positive case of Covid 19 in the LVMS student body. The good news is, we've been prepared for this and we immediately worked with our district nurse to do contact tracing for all students who would be affected.
I wanted to thank our parents for their support and understanding in this very difficult time. I realize that none of us have asked for this and we are doing our best to be there for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you!
Thank you to the following community members who graciously donated cash and items. We are overwhelmed by your generosity!

LVMS – All we want for Christmas is COOKIES!
The last day of school in 2020 is THURSDAY December 17th - Let’s show our school staff how much we appreciate all they have done for our students by sending them home for the holidays with a Christmas treat.
This year we will need 50 sets of STORE BOUGHT cookies, candies, fudges, popcorn sets or other yummies to send each teacher/staff member home with some Holiday Happiness. We ask that each set have at least 2 dozen treats for maximum enjoyment.
Please help show your gratitude by bringing your box, bag, can or basket of SCRUMDIDALIUMPTIOUS goodies to the Middle School Front Office by THURSDAY MORNING, December 17th.
Thank you in advance for your help!
8th Grade Parents - Getting Ready For High School
Your students will be completing during their Viking Valor Class and creating a 4 year plan (be aware some 8th graders are in this class currently, and some are in the class in the spring semester). Please review the plan your child completes, it will be saved to their drive, initially in the shared folder.
Please also look to this video for many details about how to review and complete the plan - https://youtu.be/Qa256iVs0Tg

Yearbook Photos
Our theme for the 20-21 book is "JUST ROLL WITH IT", for obvious reasons!
Parents can go to HJeShare.com. and submit photos for our book.
Simply enter the code: 18995 and follow a few easy directions.
*Our goal is to include as many students in our book as possible and we don't want anyone left out because they are learning from home. Please use this opportunity to show us your child's work space or any activities you think might be cool to include and relate to our theme. Thank you for participating. It's going to be a neat book!
Attention Bus Riders!
As you know, students moving between face-to-face and remote instruction is to be expected this year. The number of students riding our bus routes not only changes each 9 weeks, due to required periods of isolation and quarantine, ridership changes from day to day. Although we are working to keep pickup and dropoff times as consistent as possible, we ask that parents please prepare for buses to arrive within a 10-15 minute window on either side of the established pickup/dropoff time.
For more information on transportation services, including how to look up your student's bus route information, please visit http://www.lagovistaisd.net/page/transportation.home.
As always, we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to meet the needs of our students and families!

Help Keep Us Playing!
Masks!!
- Spectators, audiences, fans and media are required to wear face coverings as described in Executive Order GA-29.
- Groups should maintain at least six feet of distance from other groups at all times, including the process of admission and seating. A group is defined as no more than 10 people including the members of the household and those persons who traveled together to the facility.
UIL is very serious about these guidelines, and if we want to continue to play sports this year, we must take these to heart. Photos from different schools not following this guidance have already been circulating, which puts all of our programs at risk.
Please make sure to wear a mask at all times and respect social distancing.
