The Third Grade Team
Learning Targets
Writers Workshop:
We will discuss the different categories of writing goals so that we can understand what we can do to improve as writers. I'll know I have it when I can select a goal for my beginning of year writing piece based on teacher, peer, and self feedback.
Readers Workshop:
We will discuss the structure of book clubs so that we can understand our purpose and role in the club. I'll know I have it when I can work with my book club members to practice sequencing and summarizing information in our fiction text.
Social Studies:
We will learn what makes a community and how they are formed so that we can understand how communities function. I'll know I have it when I can explain the characteristics of the three types of communities and identify which type I live in.
Math Workshop:
We will take the module 2 checkup so that we can demonstrate our knowledge of addition, subtraction, and three-dimensional figures. *Module 2 check-up summative assessment will be given on Wednesday*
Science:
We will create a matter comic so that I can show my understanding of matter and how it can change. I'll know I have it when my comic accurately shows the 3 forms of matter and what can cause matter to change forms.
