Happy to have some sunny days. As we begin to wrap up the fourth six weeks, keep in mind Awards Assembly on Friday, February 28. It amazes me how time has moved quickly this year.

  • Please remember to have your child at morning assembly by 7:40am. Morning assembly is a great way to start our day together as a class family.
  • Make sure to check and initial their Panther folder daily for behavior notes and school/community information.
  • Check their blue Homework folder for any assignments. Remember all homework is given Monday and due Thursday.

As readers of nonfiction, we ask "thick questions" about topics we are curious about.

This week we revisit comparing and contrasting and continue to place events into sequential order.

Writers write for readers. This week we share our tiny moments. We also begin a new unit of study, how-to. We compile a list of topics we could potentially teach others, for example, I could teach how to do a handstand.

We focus on words containing or and ore. Although students are expected to master these words, applying the phonics rule will aid in their writing and reading.
