LIFT Weekly Update
All about the Student Ministry at First Baptist Covington.
Hey, everybody!
I think we can all agree that we are done with this winter stuff. Can't we all just get on with our regular schedules now?
We are trying to maintain a regular plan despite the weather this week. Prayer Breakfast is on for tomorrow morning (please note that there is no Prayer Breakfast Feb. 18th due to the Ski Trip), and we do plan on having a great LIFT with some fun with photos, FREE DINNER, and a new series on the book of Galatians! We will be watching the weather and will make the call about all church evening activities by noon on Wednesday, so stay tuned!
This weekend is the GROW Conference here at FBC, with a special focus on prayer. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend Saturday evening at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. Also, Sunday School and the worship services will be focused around the conference for adults and youth, with everyone meeting in the Sanctuary during the SS hour and going to regular worship services after. Finally, youth and parents are invited to attend the evening portion of the conference Sunday Night at 6pm (in the place of LifeLine). Childrens choir and youth choir will proceed as usual.
Mark your calendars for Sunday Nights starting February 23rd, as I'll be teaching a special discipleship class geared toward parents of teenagers. The study is all about technology and how it affects the next generation. Not only will you learn about some of the ins-and-outs of common apps and programs, but you'll also learn about what these trends reflect about modern culture and how that affects the life of your teen. Check this Sunday's bulletin at church for details and a schedule!
Ski Trip signups are closed! It's coming up Feb. 18-22, and it will be awesome! The packing list and detail sheet can be found HERE!

Last Week's Message from LIFT!
Parent Follow-Up
Dear Parents,
Thanks so much to those of you who were able to attend Parents Night last week! It was wonderful worshiping with you, and I hope you were encouraged. The main challenge from the message was to work toward truly knowing Christ, and we used Matthew 7:21-23 as a springboard for that discussion. Here are some questions to follow-up with your students.
- Why won't everyone who declares Jesus as Lord in the end make it to heaven?
- What does it mean to know Jesus as your Savior?
- When you see Him as the savior that you need, how does that shape your life?
- What does it mean to know Jesus as your Lord?
- What do you think Jesus might be leading you toward individually?
- What do you think Jesus might be leading us toward as a family?
