Spring Break
By: Jon Pate
This Spring Break I went to New Orleans for a soccer camp. There were both DII and DIII colleges there watching us and giving us tips to get better. I got recruited by one of the DII colleges in Arkansas and I'm looking forward to touring their campus soon. I also got invited to a scouting camp in San Antonio by one of the coaches and that camp is over the summer.
It took us 7 hours to drive to New Orleans for the camp. We left at 8:00 on Monday morning. Once we got there we had to go sign in and put our stuff down in the dorms we were staying in. After that we all went out to the field and stretched to get ready for a scrimmage. When we got done with the scrimmage we ate supper and then went back to the dorms and talked to everyone and then fell asleep. The next day we split up into groups based on our positions and worked on our skills. We did this until Thursday at lunch, when lunch was over we had a big scrimmage and that's when all the coaches watched and took notes. We also scrimmaged all day Friday. For super on Friday we went into the city and walked around for about 4 hours.
We all left Saturday morning after breakfast and a word from all the coaches. I got home around 4:00 that day and hung out with friends that night. I slept late Sunday morning and then me and some friends went fishing and turkey hunting. That's everything I did over my Spring Break.
