REMINDERS
Home Instruction
When the District is confronted with the incidents of COVID-19 positive cases and is required to exclude/quarantine a student based on the current NJDOH guidance, they will be provided with virtual home instruction. This approach will provide more personalized instruction for your child without students having to be in front of the computer for the entire day. Additionally, it will allow the teacher to continue providing high-quality instruction for all students without having to split their attention between students in the classroom and those who may be at home.
At the elementary/middle school level:
A teacher shall provide virtual home instruction for 5 hours per week (1 hour per each core class) and provide 5 hours of additional guided-learning experiences that may include the use of technology to provide audio and visual connections to the student’s classroom
TRAVEL
While there is no statewide travel advisory or mandate in place at this time, it is strongly recommended that individuals follow the CDC COVID-19 travel recommendations. The CDC recommends that travel be delayed for those who are not fully vaccinated. If travel cannot be delayed, domestic and international travelers who are not fully vaccinated should get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel, even if they test negative. If testing is not completed post-travel, individuals should self-quarantine for 10 days. International travelers who are fully vaccinated should also get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel, self-monitor for symptoms, and isolate and get tested if symptoms develop. For those traveling to/from New Jersey, domestic travel is defined as lasting 24 hours or longer to states or U.S. territories other than those connected to New Jersey, such as Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware.
IMPORTANT MASK REMINDER
Please remember to send in multiple masks with your child. The masks can break or become wet, especially after lunch/recess. We want to make sure that everyone is comfortable as we ensure adherence to the mask mandate.
Also, please remind your children how to properly wear their mask. It is important that the mask covers the child's nose and mouth. Ill-fitting masks can be more uncomfortable for the child and lead to quarantine if there is a positive case of Covid-19 in the classroom.
Lastly, masks are optional when students are outside. Please let your child know if you would like him/her to take off their mask while outside.
Thank you for your support!
