COYOTE ATHLETICS

There has been many questions surrounding our athletics this year; with delayed starting dates and several schedule changes, our athletes are definitely ready to compete. CHS fall sports are all underway. All of our athletes are representing CHS very well, with our volleyball teams currently undefeated. Football begins their season this week with the varsity opener October 2nd against the Cactus Shadow Falcons at 7:00 PM, which will also be our Senior Night for all CHS Seniors in football and cheer.

GUIDE FOR SPECTATORS AT ATHLETIC EVENTS

Our guidelines for fans looks alot different this year. All tickets will be digital and limited to follow our district's policy. Tickets must be purchased on GoFan. The links will be sent out via email and shared on our website and social media the week of the game. Below are instructions for ticket purchasing.

FAN POLICY FOR AWAY GAMES THIS WEEK

Parents and football fans planning to attend Wednesday's FR/SO football game at American Leadership Academy in Queen Creek please read their attendance policy before making the trip.

Unfortunately, Cactus Shadows High School are not allowing fans at their football games, so parents and fans of our JV football team will not be able to watch their season opener this week.

Parents of Badminton players: Gilbert schools are not allowing spectators at their events, so no fans will be permitted at Campo Verde or Gilbert this week.

COUNSELORS CORNER

Class of 2023!! You've got a year of high school under your belt now, and there are some excellent opportunities opening up for you soon!

  • Early College: At the end of this year you will be eligible for Early College through CAC. Through this program you will be able to attend up to 5 credit hours of college classes for FREE!!! Any credits over 5, and your books are your responsibility, but it's an excellent way to get a jump on college while in high school.
  • EVIT: Now is the time to consider whether EVIT is a good fit for you or not. There will be virtual presentations and several Q and A sessions in Quarter 2 to give you more information. Remember, to attend EVIT, you have to have between a 2.0 and a 2.5 GPA AND be on track to graduate. Registration starts in Quarter 3, so listen for announcements and watch for emails with more information.
  • More AP Options: As you get to your Junior/Senior years, there are more AP class options...another great way to earn college credit.
  • Sophomore To Do List:
    • Start researching Post-Secondary options (degrees, colleges, certifications)
    • Start practicing for the SAT/ACT...there are many websites that allow you do practice for free
    • Sign up for the PSAT...great practice for the SAT
    • Get your service hours for Senior Walk/Promise for the Future/scholarship applications
  • For questions or information on any of these programs, make an appointment with your counselor.

It is now time for you to start celebrating your one and only senior year. Due to Covid 19, we will not be on your campus to take orders for caps and gowns, graduation announcements, class rings and senior clothing. We are excited to help you with all of these items though.
