COVID-19 Symptom Screening Tool

*Updated*

The Wayne County Health Department has UPDATED the Student Symptom Screening Tool including an additional question (Headache and/or Sore Throat) and clarification on the two last questions on the form to refer to students only. You can access the updated form by clicking on the following link: COVID-19 Student Symptom Screening Tool

The District FAQs have been updated with the following information:

Health & Safety Protocols

UPDATED Will students be temperature screened before entering the school building? Parents are required to check students for COVID-19 symptoms EACH DAY BEFORE sending a child to school. By sending your child to school, you are declaring that you have completed the NPS COVID-19 Student Symptom Screening Tool (updated 10.16.2020) and that your child is not exhibiting any of the symptoms or conditions listed. If you answer “YES” to one or more questions, you must keep your child home from school. It is essential that this process be done daily with integrity and fidelity as modeled in this Daily Screening Public Service Announcement. Temperature checks at school may be instituted periodically as appropriate.

LUNCH ORDERS

Lunch Orders can be placed not only daily but weekly or monthly. If you are placing your order daily, IT MUST BE PLACED BY 9 AM IF YOU WOULD LIKE A LUNCH FOR YOUR CHILD.

Dress appropriately for the weather

Each year the Physical Education staff look for ways to take students outside during their PE classes. In an effort to get students outside as much as possible this year, they will continue these efforts.

The weather is quickly changing and is a bit cooler each day/week. It is important that your child be dressed appropriately when they come to school each day so they are prepared to participate in not only PE but also outside brain breaks and recesses.

Picking Up your child early from school

We can no longer have students wait in the office. If your child is being picked up early, they must remain in their classroom until you arrive. Please ring the buzzer by the front doors and we will call your child down at that time.

Communication with your child's teacher is key

Our school days' are much different now. We can not express how important it is for you to communicate with your child's teacher via email. Please try to refrain from calling the office to contact teachers or leave messages for teachers.

Picture Day - October 22nd

Order forms will be coming home early next week for Lifetouch Picture Day on Thursday, October 22nd for all in-person and virtual students. Virtual classroom teachers will share the Winchester schedule with all of their families.

We are encouraging our families to order online ahead of time. Go to mylifetouch.com and use code EVT7XSPQ8.

Box Tops

While many things have changed in 2020, earning money for our school with Box Tops has remained the same. While the physical Box Top Clips are being phased out, they are still accepted. You can clip and send these BoxTops in to your classroom teacher by Friday, October 23rd. You can also earn money virtually clipping BoxTops by scanning your store receipts in the Box Tops for Education App. These rewards will be automatically counted and a check will be sent to Winchester twice per year. Attach your clips to a Clip Sheet (attached), or send in a baggie or envelope to your classroom teacher. The top earning classes will earn either an extra recess, free time, game day, or a movie during school!

Virtual families, you can drop your clips off at the office by October 23rd. Please place them in a baggie with your teacher’s name. Drop them in the clear plastic box located outside the front doors of the school. Be sure to include your teacher's name so your class can receive credit!

PTA Volunteers Needed

Do you have a few minutes in the morning to help out at the school? We are looking for a few parent volunteers each day to monitor students as they are headed to their entrance doors. Volunteers will greet students, remind them to keep distance between other children, and make sure they get to their entrance doors!

Volunteers will need to have an updated ICHAT form (for this school year), distance on school grounds and wear a mask.

Please email your completed form and a copy of your driver's license to Deb Obsniuk at obsniude@northvilleschools.org.

If you are interested in helping out, please sign up for a slot using Sign Up Genius.

If you sign up, a brief meeting will be held with Kelly Lindsay, Principal to go over the procedures.
