Scoliosis Testing

Our nursing staff will be scoliosis testing on January 28. Testing is for 8th grade boys and 7th grade girls ONLY.

Eighth Grade Parent Meeting for HS 2022-23 Scheduling

Lubbock-Cooper High School will host a meeting for parents of current 8th grade students on Monday night, January 24, at 7:15pm in the Performing Arts Center to go over schedule options for the 2022-23 school year.

January Pirates of the Month

Congratulations to the following students on being selected as this month's Pirates of the Month. Each month, LCMS staff choose student Pirates of the Month. These students are chosen for their contributions to our school and community and for being caring, energetic students and good role models for others.

Winter Heartland Dance

We have rescheduled the Winter Heartland Dance for February 10 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. (Combination of winter and Valentine's Day dance) Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, February 3 during grade level lunches.

Dress Code and Badges

Please encourage your student to have their badge each day. They are to wear them around their necks. We are still having issues with this, and it needs to be a priority for the students. We will continue to speak with them about the badges. Please know that it could be a discipline issue if students do not have their badge.

I have attached below the dress code policy, please make sure they are following our dress code policy. Student not following the policy will be placed in ISS until the dress code violation is corrected.

Attendance Reminders for LCMS:

  • School begins at 8:15 AM.
  • First bell rings at 8:10 AM.
  • Tardy bell rings at 8:15 AM.
  • Any arrivals after 8:40 AM are counted as an absence for 1st period.
  • Any early check out by parent before 3:35 PM will be counted as an absence for 8ht period.
  • If your student is ill, please EMAIL in by 9:00 AM.
  • After a student's seventh absence, a doctor’s note is required.

* Excused and Unexcused absences will count toward being able to exemption final exams for the Spring semester. S days do not count toward attendance when determining exemption criteria.

Please note, students will LOSE spring exam exemption status due to any of the following:

  • The student has four or more tardies in the class the student wants to exempt
  • The student has four or more absences in the class the student wants to exempt or one or more unexcused absence (U-U) in the class a student wants to exempt

Athletic Concession Stand

We are needing help with concession stands at our basketball games. Please see link below to sign up. We only have five weeks left in the season.

Please help! We really NEED parents to sign up. Any grade level parent is welcomed to sign up.

Treasure Hunt Through the Arts

Lubbock-Cooper Fine Arts organizations invite you to the first ever Treasure Hunt Through the Arts! Each elementary campus, both middle schools, and LCHS will be showcasing more than 300 pieces of visual art, dance, theatre, vocal performance, and instrumental groups from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22 at the PAC!
