The Blue Angel Weekly

August 15, 2022

Dear PCA Families,

We hope you all enjoyed the weekend! We are looking forward to our first full week of school with our Blue Angels! Welcome to the first Blue Angel Weekly. This will be a combination of my weekly emails and the weekly update all in one!

First Children's Mass

Our first Children's Mass will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, August 16 at 9:40 AM in the PCA Gymnasium. All parents are welcome to attend the Mass. We will have designated seating for parents in the back of the gym on the chairs. Please arrive by 9:35 AM so you can be seated prior to the start of Mass. Please enter and sign-in through the gym doors. Please note: PK and Kindergarten classes do not start attending Mass until January, as they are still acclimating to the school environment.

Did you send in your forms?

Please be sure you have completed and returned all orientation paperwork that was emailed to you, including the Code of Conduct agreement and the Parent/Student Handbook agreement. All documents can be found online at: https://my.sharuku.com/tile?q=71akn

Uniform Closet

PCA has a Uniform Closet which houses many gently used uniform items at a greatly reduced cost. Please feel free to shop the Uniform Closet for needed uniform items.

PE Uniforms

Students in grades 5-8 should wear the following to school on PE days:

Boys:

PE uniform tee OR PCA polo shirt

PE shorts (on M, W, Th, F only) OR PCA uniform shorts (on Mass day -Tuesday)

sneakers

Girls:

PE uniform tee OR PCA polo shirt

PE shorts UNDER the uniform skirt

sneakers

Grades PK-4 will just need to wear their sneakers with their regular school uniform.

Carpool

We are working out the beginning of the year glitches! Thank you for your patience! For afternoon carpool, please do not come early. Middle school parents, your children's last class ends at 3:05 PM. Please do not come prior to that or they will be missing class time.

Clubs

We will be sending out Club Flyers next week! Please stay tuned!

Virtues Program

This year PCA will be implementing the Virtues in Practice program. Each month, starting in September, there will be a schoolwide focus on a specific virtue. The virtue for September will be FAITH. Faith is believing in God and all he has revealed. Each grade will also focus on a Saint of the Month who exemplified that virtue.

The Virtues in Practice program also has a Home Project component. At the beginning of each month, teachers will send home examples of activities that you can do with your children at home to enhance the learning and practice of the virtue. There will be a parent/student comment and reflection sheet that needs to be completed and returned to the teacher by the designated due date. Click below to download a Parent Guide for the program.
