Top Story: Kidnapped Johnny Dorset has been found!
Stop searching and relax! Local child that was abducted has been returned peacefully. Johnny Dorset (10 years of age) was returned to his wealthy father, Ebenezer Dorset on April 9th, 1873 at 12:00 A.M after being kidnapped from his house in the town of Summit and held for ransom 4 days earlier by two burly, stout men. Ebenezer and once worried neighbors are relieved that their “perfect child” has been returned without any injuries or problems. The next day we got the chance to sit down with grateful Ebenezer Dorset who stated honestly, “I didn’t even know my son was abducted until I received the unrealistic ransom note stating that I was to pay $2,000 to get my “darling, sweethearted” little Johnny back. The moment I received that ransom note I shot back a letter that split second explaining that there was no way I was going to pay them that much money to get that insane, bad tempered, and disrespectful boy back. Honestly, I wasn’t surprised they showed up with that lunatic of a boy at my door with $250 that night. I am overjoyed that he is safe and secure though.” We also asked Johnny what happened when the actual kidnapping took place. He said “ I was just outside of our house in the street clowning around with our kittens causing no damage to them whatsoever and these stocky men grabbed me and tossed me in the bottom of their wagon putting as much pressure on top of me as possible and they took off. They told me they kidnapped me so that they can get $2000 to use for another scheme they were going to pull off in Illinois. At first I was cautious of these men but I became brave and actually I had a wonderful and adventurous time with them.” Well, for all people who love and care for little Johnny he has been reunited with his family and all of you who consider him as an annoying, bratty little boy, sorry you didn’t get off the hook this time!
