The new CC bookstore is here!
Robert Bortin's welcome to the new online bookstore:
I am very excited to announce that after months of work our new online homeschool bookstore is now open for business! Our new store platform is significantly more mobile friendly and makes it easier for you to purchase the curriculum and books that are right for your family. We hope you like the ease of use of the new site and that it will give you more time to spend helping your children “to know God, and to make Him known.”
This fall will be our 20th anniversary, and we will be celebrating around the country this October. Please sign up for our emails to receive more information about this and other upcoming events and sales in your area. We are very privileged that you allow us to walk alongside you during your homeschool journey. Like my mom always says, “if you are going to do something hard for 12 years, you need some good friends there to help you out.” So, if you are homeschooling just this one year or all the way through high school, we are here to help you cultivate the confidence and skills that are already inside of you to make this the best year yet.
If you are new to homeschooling or Classical Conversations, we strongly suggest that you start with Classical Christian Education Made Approachable. It is an easy read and will confirm your decision to homeschool. If you are still unsure about homeschooling or the classical model of education, this book will help you see that you truly can be successful in homeschooling your children using the classical model of education.
Please explore our new homeschool bookstore website and rate any products that you already own so that others can glean from your knowledge. As we transition from our old online bookstore to our new store, we will be operating both sites concurrently for a while. Please contact customer service with any feedback you may have so that we can make your shopping experience more enjoyable.
It’s time to cast your votes in the National Memory Master Competition!
How to vote: Click on the video that you wish to watch. Once the video is loaded it will allow you the option to vote on that specific video! There are also options to share it directly to Facebook, Twitter, Google plus, Tumbler, or Reddit. You can vote for any video one time, however, there is not a limit on how many videos you can vote for.
Voting Rules: Videos will be voted on by the student’s family, friends and classmates from February 21, 2017 until 11:59 p.m. EST February 26, 2017. Votes should be cast for the most interesting and accurate use of the history facts. Entrants will be divided by region, and voting will be based on the entrant’s region of residence. At least one finalist from each region will attend unless no eligible submissions are entered in a given region. A map of Classical Conversations’ regions will be posted on the NMM website. Family and friends are encouraged to vote, but they should vote with care; they would not want to embarrass the student by entering them into a competition for which they are not equipped.
After initial voting, applicants will be viewed and judged by the National Memory Master staff.

Global Home Education Conference
As we reflect on freedom and the loss of freedom, we should take a minute to thank God
for freedoms in our own countries to home educate our children. We should take a minute
to pray for families in countries who don’t enjoy these freedoms. For the past few years,
Classical Conversations® has partnered with HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense
Association) to advocate for greater home education freedoms around the world.

Other practicum events will be announced soon!
Be sure to visit a Parent Practicum this summer as we reason together and discuss logic. Your local book rep will be on site at these events, so you can save the shipping costs and take home the available books and materials immediately.
The Fuge Field Trip
Please RSVP though Team Snap Avail. Our guide will need to make arrangements based on our numbers.
This is will be a truly unique presentation and tour, roughly 1 & 1/2 hours, of the history of the first human centrifuge. It is currently rented out as a venue for social events, since the Navy left there in the 1990's. The SE Cold War Historical Society will describe how the Navy operated 31 development laboratories and worked on applications of technologies during 1940's though 1996. The main technology being the centrifuge built to test the limits of the human body for high accelerations generated by post- WWII fighter jets. We should be able to tour the centrifuge chamber, flight deck and see some artifacts such as flight suits.

Tell us about a famous speech. Better yet, memorize a portion of that speech and recite it to your class! Consider speeches such as the Gettysburg Address, MLK's "I have a dream", or Patrick Henry's "Give me Liberty". Younger kids can simply focus on 1-2 lines. Tell us what was going on in history during this time period.
