Dear St. Maria Goretti Catholic School Families,
Happy Palm Sunday!
Our Accreditation visit went well. The team had nothing but great things to say about our students and school, as I knew they would. Thank you for your prayers and support.
Families who applied for tuition assistance by the February 28, 2022 deadline, will be receiving their award letters via email on April 15, 2022. The second round of tuition assistance will be open from April 18, 2022 until May 15, 2022. Letters for this round will be sent in June. Anyone applying after May 15, 2022 will be considered if we have any funds left to give. Please let Mr. Rogalsky or me know if you have any questions or concerns.
We have an open house scheduled for Monday, April 18, 2022. Refer a new family and ask them to give your name and phone number when they tour SMGCS for a chance to WIN a $250 Visa gift card. The winning name will be drawn on May 27, 2022.
Don't forget that students in Grades 3-7 will be taking the IOWA Assessments and 8th grade will be taking the PSAT this week. Please be sure that students get a good night's rest and eat breakfast on these days. There will be no homework for students in grades 3-7 during testing.

Wednesday, April 13th: 8th-grade PSAT test
Thursday, April 14th, 8th grade performs living stations at 11:00 AM in the Church, Early Dismissal at 12:15
There will NOT be SMEED on Thursday, April 14, 2022, due to Holy Thursday. All students must be picked up at 12:15 PM.
Friday, April 15th is a School Holiday. Enjoy your Good Friday!
Thank you to all the school students and families who have participated in hosting Sunday Mass. SMGCS will be hosting the 1:00 PM Mass on Sunday, May 15, 2022, this is our last Mass of the year. Please sign up if you would like to participate.

Out of the Box Submissions Due MONDAY!!!
Out of the Box: SMG Art and Literary Magazine is now accepting submissions! This annual publication showcases superior works of art, photography, and writing submitted by students of all ages as well as our faculty and staff. Our 2022 submission deadline is Monday, April 11th. Information sheets and printed submission forms were sent home in folders this week.

Spirit Games May 1st
The Stephen Breen Spirit Games are back after a two-year break. This is a fun way to meet others from the Diocese and share faith, fun, and fellowship. I hope that all SMGCS families will make plans to attend. The school with the most attendance will win an ice cream party!!
Students may wear their Spirt Game T-shirt every Friday AND the week of April 25-29 (except Mass day)
We need parents and students to help set up, work and clean up our minute to win it game booth. All workers will earn DOUBLE spirit or service hours. Two students are needed to dress up as the SMGCS Trojan, and four students to participate in the closing ceremony. Please use the Sign Up Genius to help!
