Wednesday: Spirit Day - Wild West. Back to School Night (virtual), 6pm.

Friday: 9/11 Rememberance (wear black in solidarity); Choir Concert - The Cat's Pajamas, 7pm, amphitheater.

Back to School Night is Next Wednesday

Back to School Night is usually one of my favorite events of the year. It's an opportunity to hear from teachers, learn about each of your student's classes, and get a sense of what to expect for the term. This year, all secondary schools in VUSD will host Back to School Night virtually. At Mission Vista, this means a live webinar with the leadership team, followed by asynchronous viewing of detailed informational videos from each teacher.

All families are invited to join us for a Zoom Webinar at 6pm, that I will be hosting. This is an opportunity to get a general overview of the Fall term and to hear from leaders of key departments and services on campus. Following the webinar, families will have an opportunity to "visit" classes by clicking on the teacher video links listed in a shared document (shared the morning of BTSN).

PACK Tutoring begins Tuesday!

Beginning Tuesday, September 7th, Mission Vista High School will begin our after-school tutoring program, The PACK (Perseverance, Achievement, Curiosity, & Knowledge). The PACK will run Tuesday-Thursday in the Library from 2:50-3:50 p.m. Mission Vista teachers from several subject areas will be on hand to help any interested students, and 11th and 12th-grade students from our California Scholarship Federation (CSF) club will also be available to assist students. Busing will be available each day for students with a valid bus pass.

This Week's ASB Announcements

ASB WOLFPACK UPDATE 8.31.2021

An Important Reminder for ALL Students: Bring a Charged Chromebook to School Every Day

As a reminder, all students are expected to bring a charged Chromebook to school every day. Please be sure to make a habit of charging the device each evening, and create a reminder (on your phone, a post-it, etc.) to help you remember to take the Chromebook in your backpack each morning.
In lieu of sending all-school community updates for every case of COVID on our campus, I will provide a brief update for MVHS in the Wolf Pack Weekly.

During the past week (since last Friday), MVHS had 3 new cases of COVID-19 among students/staff members.

School community members can also follow up-to-the-minute data on our District's COVID-19 Dashboard.

What Happens if My Student is Sent Home to Quarantine?

If your student home to quarantine, per the County's Decision Tree for K-12 Schools, we still want to ensure a continuity of learning to the extent possible.

Students on quarantine should check their Canvas tiles daily for key information and assignments for each course. Additionally, a staff member will check in with all students at noon daily to ensure they have access to what they need. In some cases, students will be invited to work on coursework (namely math, English, and social studies) during the check-in sessions.

Students who have specific questions are encouraged to contact teachers directly. All students on quarantine are entitled to an opportunity to make up any work missed.

Vote for School Site Council Reps

There are 9 community members interested in serving on the MVHS School Site Council this year. Please see the form below to cast your vote for up to three Council representatives.
