Laurel Cinematic Arts Families,

This week is OPEN HOUSE week. All are welcome to join us THIS THURSDAY FROM 5-7 P.M. to see our students projects and portfolios. Join us in the Auditorium for a welcome presentation from 5:00 - 5:30 and move to our classrooms to meet with teachers and see student work in action! Next week 5th and 8th grade students will present their portfolios to staff to showcase their readiness for middle and high school.

We have 3-days left of State Testing :) This week students are taking their reading and writing exams. Thank you for helping us reach our participation goal of 95% by discussing the importance of trying their best on state assessments. One way to describe tests are in preparation for career. To name a few: teachers, doctors, lawyers, real estate agents, dentists and general contractors all require standardized testing for licensing. Students will access their EXAMS using their chrome books. Practice with your 3-8th grade child by accessing practice test questions here: https://sampleitems.smarterbalanced.org/BrowseItems

Students will receive incentives for being on-time and prepared for testing in grades 3-8 & be invited to a Luau for attending every day of testing and trying their best! Student Luau THIS FRIDAY, May 26th. If you are a parent volunteer interested in supporting with this Friday's Luau from 9:30 - 11:30, email Ms. Corcoran.
