Triple Treat Week 3

Welcome to your week 3 newsletter. If you have been following your Isagenix cleansing program you should be starting to feel some changes happening within yourself, an increase in energy, better sleep, less cravings, less bloat and an overall improvement in wellness. It is OK if you have had a slip up here and there (we’re only human), but your results are a reflection of how well you stick to your program. So “make it happen!” This week we are sharing our top 3 tricks to getting you the best results!

Tip #1 – DRINK H2O!!

As a rough guide we should be aiming to drink at least 2 - 3 Litres of water per day! Remember this will vary on days depending on exercise, perspiration, environment and water from foods and also your body weight. A general formula for body weight is (bodyweight in kg) x 0.04 so if you weigh 80kg x 0.04 = 3.2 Litres per day. Insuring you are drinking enough water each day will help the body eliminate toxins and fat through urination. A handy way to increase your water intake is to carry a large water bottle with you everywhere you go. This works as a visual reminder. I personally make sure I refill my water bottle 3 times a day

Tip #2 - RESISTANCE TRAINING!

If you are not lifting some weights your missing out! Resistance training has many benefits including increasing your bone health, increasing strength, sculpting and shaping your body and raising your metabolism. Your muscles in your body require calories for energy, so the more lean muscle you have the more calories you will burn even without exercising! As a general recommendation we should be aiming for resistance training 2-3 times per week. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for our Triple Treat Workouts this coming week!

Tip #3 – HIIT!

This stands for high intensity interval training. This is the best type of cardio to do for cutting through fat and increasing fitness! The magic of HIIT lies in the ability to keep burning fat even after you have finished your workout. This is due to EPOC (excess post exercise oxygen consumption). In a nutshell this means that your body isn’t able to bring enough oxygen to your muscles during the high intensity interval creating a “debt” of oxygen. This “debt” must be paid back once in recovery resulting in your metabolism being revved for hours!! And the best news is that all you need is 3 x 20 minute HIIT sessions per week! Now that beats 60 minutes of cardio any day! A good example of HIIT would be a SPIN CLASS. If you can’t make a class you can use a bike or stationery bike at the gym and using moderate resistance sprint for 30 seconds then cycle steady for 30 seconds and REPEAT until you reach 20 minutes.
