From the Principal.......
Dear Mustang Families,
Thank you to all of you for being resilient this week trying to log on and getting your students working with Distance Learning. It has been a strain on many of you and I want you to know that slow and steady will win! Getting logged in and helping your child gain some independence with getting on Seesaw or Google Classroom will be the best. Again, slow and steady. You are the support from home (cheerleader). Please lean on school staff to help you and your child in the process. If your child hasn't logged on yet, please make every effort to start this week. You're not behind. We want to get learning started slowly and most importantly connect with all of you.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Lisa Tyler

Distance Learning for All
I hope that you and your child were able to connect with the teacher this week. Remember that this is a new journey for all of us and we are will be working to improve every week. This has been a difficult shift from paper/pencil learning to digital learning. St. Helens School District did our best to provide paper/pencil packets for students the first two weeks after Spring Break. After receiving the State Guidelines for Distance Learning for All, our district will be completely digital. We will save thousands of dollars doing so while also keeping as many people at home during this national crisis. Only those without connectivity or special circumstances will be offered packets and those packets will not contain the same materials. It is impossible to duplicate video recorded instruction with a worksheet.
Our McBride Teachers are doing an amazing job providing Learning Templates for our students to help guide their work throughout the week. You can locate the Grade Level Learning Plans for McBride on our McBride Webpage. Here is the link to McBride Grade Level Learning Plans.

Mustang Running Club
After Spring Break I invited the whole school to participate in helping our running club from home. I have been keeping track of my miles and gotten responses from two students. Our new updated total is 252 miles. That takes us to the Grants Pass area in southern Oregon. The weather is pretty nice, so let's get out there and walk, Mustangs! Send me your miles and I will update again soon!
Be sure to include your Mustang student’s name(s), grade, teacher and total miles (round to the nearest ½ mile please).
