Tilghman Tiger Talk
November 11, 2021 Principal Update
2021-2022 School Year
Dear Tilghman Families,
Here are a few updates and reminders to keep you informed.
This Week:
November 15-19th is American Education Week. Please see the flyer below that details our plans for the week.
The Book Fair is Here:
During American Education Week we will start our virtual Scholastic book fair and it will last two weeks. (See more information below.)

Flu Clinic:
A student Flu vaccine clinic will be held at TES on Thursday, 11/18, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. The Elementary School clinics will be held after school and a parent/guardian must be present for the vaccination. You must register your child for one of the flu clinics in order for them to receive the vaccination. If you have any questions about the flu vaccine or clinics please contact the Health Department at 410-819-5600.
Attendance:
While we are encouraging families to keep their students home when they are sick, it is essential that students come to school when they are well. TCPS is enforcing the county's attendance policy. If there is a specific challenge your family is facing to get your student to school, please contact Logan Charest (logan.charest@talbotschools.org) or Jessica Cronin (jessica.cronin@talbotschools.org) so we can support you. Also, please do your very best to plan vacations during the summer months.
Illness:
Please keep your child home if she/he is not feeling well and let the school nurse and your child's teacher know (Nurse- tbatley@talbotschools.org). If your child is awaiting COVID test results he/she should remain at home until a negative test result is received even if there are no symptoms. You will need to forward a copy of the PCR test results in order to return to school. TCPS follows strict guidance from the Talbot County Health Department on quarantine procedures when a student is sick or exhibits Covid-19 symptoms. In addition, please make sure you send a parent or doctor's note if your child is absent for any reason.
Please see the TCPS chart and link that shows Covid cases and quarantined students by TCPS school below.

Quarantined Students:
If students are required to quarantine, teachers will be providing work for students to complete and will reach out to assist during student absences. Please contact the school to make arrangements for picking up work. Teachers may also be reaching out to set up Zoom meetings for instructional purposes.
Thank you for taking necessary precautions and keeping students home when they are sick.
We appreciate your willingness to take your child/children to the doctor and to get the PCR tests when necessary. These decisions help us all stay safe and healthy!
Volunteers:
Due to Talbot County Covid numbers, we are not yet having volunteers in TES. We recognize your desire to help and greatly appreciate your efforts to support our staff and students. Once we feel that it is safe to do so, we will be asking for volunteers to assist in various capacities.
If you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!
