Board Meeting Summary

Glen Ellyn School District 41

November 21, 2022 Regular Board Meeting

The Board of Education provides a "Board Meeting Summary" after each Board meeting. The summary includes a brief description of the main topics and action items. These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items. Discussion | watch

Embrace Software Purchase
Assistant Superintendent for Student Services Laurel O'Brien spoke about how we as a district address threat assessments. Part of the threat assessment process requires the safe storage of highly important and highly confidential information. We are at a point in our threat assessment work where we have investigated options and recommend that our current IEP system, Embrace, construct a specialty module for the purpose of threat assessment.
Server Refresh Purchase

Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Facilities and Operations Eric DePorter explained how our critical district servers are near the end of their lifespan. Working with another local school district, Director of Instructional Technology and Innovation Andrew Peterman is proposing that District 41 purchase that district's underutilized servers. A move that would save our district over $30,000.
