What carbohydrates does and how it functions.
Carbohydrates are the major source of energy for the body. They are composed mostly of the elements carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O). Through the bonding of these elements, carbohydrates provide energy for the body.
Major sources of Carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates take the form of sugars, starches and fibers. The major sources of carbohydrates are in cereals, pulses, potatoes. Also some fruit and vegetables contain carbohydrates and even milk.
What can happen if your body consumes to much/or to less of it?
Body fat percentage, exercise habits and the amount of protein and fat consumed, the optimal amount of carbs can vary considerably from person to person.After the carbs are broken down by the digestive system into glucose, a simple form of sugar, they are released into the bloodstream increasing the level of blood sugar.

Most food items we consume contain carbohydrates. All fruit and vegetables, all breads, grains and cereal products are carbohydrates as well as sugars and sugary foods.
