We're Going WILD about Reading!
To share our love for reading and excitement about the book fair, we are hosting a themed dress day each day during the book fair. Normal casual dress guidelines apply.
- Monday, March 9: Marvel Monday - Dress as Your Favorite Marvel
- Tuesday, March 10: Disney Dress Day - Dress as your favorite Disney Character
- Wednesday, March 11: Wild About Reading Wednesday - Safari and jungle dress
- Thursday, March 12: Bookworm Day - Dress like a bookworm!
- Friday, March 13: Favorite Book Character Day - Dress like your favorite book character. (Early Bird Shopping) Starts @ 7:00
We will also hold two special shopping events for families:
- Monday, March 9: "Grand" Opening! Grandparents are invited to attend during the school day to shop with their grandchildren. The hours are 7:30-3:00.
- Friday, March 13: Early Bird Shopping Day! The book fair will open at 7:00 a.m. for early-bird shoppers.

Attention 4th Grade Parents: Explore National Parks with your Child this Summer!
Every Kid Outdoors allows U.S. fourth-graders and family members free access to over 2,000 federal lands and waters so you can discover our wildlife, resources, and history. Every Kid Outdoors creates crucial connections to public lands and inspires a future generation of stewards for America's spectacular national parks and other public lands.
To obtain a pass, fourth-grade students can visit the bilingual Every Kid Outdoors website, participate in a short educational activity, and then download a paper voucher to print and bring with them to visit public lands and waters all across the country.

REVISED 2020 State Testing (LEAP 2025 Assessment)
State testing is just around the corner! Please review the schedule below. It is crucial that your child is present on testing days. Demonstrating proficiency on state exams is a requirement for all students.

High school state assessments are a graduation requirement. Additionally, these assessments count as the final exam grade and 30% of the overall course grade for high school students.
Final Exam Schedule and AP Testing Schedule
The LEAP 2025 (formerly EOC) state assessment will count as the final exam for Algebra I, Geometry, US History, Biology, English I, and English II. An additional final exam will NOT be given in these courses.

Friendly Reminder about Approved Outerwear
As the temperatures drop, we would like to remind everyone of the approved outerwear.
- Only STEM Magnet Academy sweatshirts are allowed. If your child does not have a school sweatshirt, they may wear a uniform-approved jacket.
- Jackets, if not school official, must be solid purple, gray, black, or white. No “heather” or Sherpa jackets. Logos on jackets must not exceed 2x2.
- Solid purple, gray, black, or white leggings may be worn under skirts or jumpers.
Volunteer & Chaperone Policy (IMPORTANT)
- The school district is now requiring all volunteers, including field trip chaperones, to undergo a background check PRIOR to being able to volunteer for school activities and participate in field trips. All volunteers must also have a signed confidentiality agreement on file.
- Fingerprints must be done at the Louisiana State Police headquarters. The Louisiana State Police headquarters is located at 7919 Independence Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA.
