Instructional Playbook
One of my favorite parts of sitting in department meetings is those moments where teachers have those little side conversations about something they're both trying that worked well. Everyone gets all excited, and it's so cool to see that collaboration happening in real time. It feels a lot like those "aha!" moments we all love for our students to have.
The instructional coaches are all very excited to start putting together a Westwood instructional playbook that can be accessed by every instructional staff member in the district. But it's going to take time, and it's going to take feedback and help from our teachers.
So I have a request for you all. If there's something specific you use that works consistently and spectacularly well for your students, please tell me about it! I'd like to see it in action in your classroom, and I'll work with you to start writing up an entry in our playbook for it!
What exactly is an instructional playbook?
Instructional playbooks look different from place to place. Here are a few examples, and feel free to go Googling to see if you can find any other school districts' playbook. If you see anything you'd like to try while looking through them, get with me! I would love to help you try something new!
