From the Principal...

November 5, 2021

Dear Westbrook Families,

We hope students enjoyed their day off on Tuesday. The weather was perfect for playing outside. The district 57 staff met at Lincoln Middle School Tuesday to engage in professional learning. Teachers picked from a menu of classes that directly applied to their role in the school. We look forward to implementing new ideas learned into the classrooms in the coming weeks.

It is hard to believe that the first trimester ends today, Friday, November 5th. Report cards will go home with students on Friday, November 12th. We look forward to discussing your child’s progress with you at our fall conferences.

Mr. Anderson and I are looking forward to our next round of principals’ reading aloud. We are excited to read to each classroom before our December break. Our November and December read-aloud books include Count the Monkeys by Mac Barnett and Kevin Cornell and Actual Size by Steve Jenkins.

Next Wednesday, November 10th, is picture retake day. Please notify your child’s teacher by email if you would like them to participate in retakes. Teachers will sign up for a time for their students to re-take.

Please see our shield testing schedule for next week.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our Veterans for their service. We look forward to celebrating Veterans Day next Thursday, November 11th.

For your Children,

Danielle Crandall

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for November 16th, 18th, and 30th from 4:20-8:20 pm. You can sign up for a time with your child’s teacher at this Sign-Up Link. You will be asked if you prefer an in-person conference at Westbrook or a Zoom conference. Zoom links can be found at this link.

We ask that all parents/guardians entering the building wear a mask and use hand sanitizer upon entry to the classroom. In addition, we ask you to maintain social distancing of six feet. If you have any covid symptoms (or active covid cases within your home), please notify the teacher, and you will be offered the opportunity to connect via zoom.

Lost and Found is FULL

If your child is missing anything, please come to the office to sign in. The Lost and Found is located near the gym.

A friendly reminder to label all items your child brings to school. We try to reunite lost items with their owners before they are placed in the Lost and Found.
