Wednesday, April 12th: PSA Career Day
Dear Industry Representatives,
Career Day is rapidly approaching and we need YOUR experiences! We are looking for a variety of people interested in spending time talking to our students about their career.
Many of our students are unaware of the career opportunities available to them and this is a fantastic way to provide them with first hand knowledge of potential career pathways.
This is also a great way for you to get involved at PSA and make an impact on the students’ future.
If you are not interested but know someone who is, please give them (or us) the necessary contact information. Participants may click here or go to https://goo.gl/forms/vpPg4BUMkxBI5kEA2 to register.
The 2017 PSA Career Day is April 12th at 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m..
Thank you in advance for your involvement!

Spotlight on LEarning
LEarning @ Prestwick
Read Across Little Elm at Prestwick was a huge success!! Students had the opportunity to be read to by many wonderful community volunteers. In addition, middle school students were paired up with elementary for activities involving reading and learning. 8th grade was paired with 4th/5th, 7th with 2nd/3rd, and 6th with K/1st. The students had a great time collaborating and learning together.
Our amazing volunteers included Little Elm’s own superintendent Dr. Lowell Strike, LEISD board member Alex Flores, LEISD Director of Communication Services Patricia Robbins, Prestwick principal Christine Gibson, and Prestwick counselor Sandy Burrell. In addition, Prestwick had wonderful volunteers from the American Legion and Army veteran’s Ken Looney, Tony Sanniola, Terry Meyering, and Ron Bircher. Miss Mckinney United States Roslyn Huff was also a volunteer. We also had many awesome parent volunteers that included; Denise Hanti, Curtis Cornelious, Paula Schneyer, Tracy Gibson, Jeff Sladecek, and Rebecca Lactaz.
Thank you to all of the volunteers for making Read Across Little Elm a fun and successful day!
Prestwick Humble Helpers are Asking for New Socks!
If you want to donate a new pair of socks to help out those who may need it, please drop off your items in the front office. Warm feet are always a good thing when houses are cold and to wear with shoes. It's a small item, we sometimes take for granted. If you are out and about this weekend, pick up a pair!
Counselor's Corner: Service
Our Core Value for this month is Service.

ˈsərvəs/
noun 1. the action of helping or doing work for someone.
synonyms,favor, kindness, good turn, helping hand;
Conversations can easily take place on the way home or while eating. Where did you see service today at school? How did you serve in some way today? We have lots of kids who are service-minded. The girls who are collecting socks, NJHS, Lobo Ambassadors, Our Green Team, and many more!
I will be teaching about Service in our K through 5 Guidance classes during the week of March 20th!
Please let me know if I can be of service as well - Mrs. Burrell
