SCREAM PAINTING & COLLAGE LESSON
This detailed lesson contains
Step-by-step directions for drawing, painting, and photo collaging an art piece inspired by Edvard Munch's The Scream. It has school-appropriate images from Munch's body of work. It tells the story of the two instances that The Scream was stolen. It also has images and videos that reference the art in popular culture. It is included in the bundle or can be downloaded here.

HAUNTED ARt HALLOWEEN ACTIVITY
But wait, there is more!
Digital Scream Puzzle
The Bundle includes a Digital Easel Activity that can be assigned to students to help them become familiar with The Scream.
Digital Annotation Activity
In this Digital Easel Activity, students are asked to annotate over the painting to identify the vanishing point and converging lines.
Digital Grab & Move
This activity includes a slide that helps students plan for the placement of their photo collage by dragging the screamer into the landscape.
Word Play & Props
The props include an ice cream cone because words can sound similar with different meanings. I link to a story that illustrate this.
A Printable Puzzle
I included a nine-page black and white printable puzzle. This activity helped my students look at The Scream more closely before they began their drawing.
Pop Culture
I found a bunch of interesting videos, images, and stories to interest your students. I showed them at the end of each art class during our Scream unit to fascinate them.
