The Hungate Echo
Sherburn Hungate Weekly News - Issue 11
A word from Mr Broom
For the staff this week, they've had training on the updated music curriculum and Mr Browning and I met with representatives of the STARMAT to formulate a plan for the computing curriculum. It certainly is an exciting time to be at Sherburn Hungate.
Next week, we have a special visitor in school on Friday, as part of the World War II topic in Year 5. Paul Sharman, who you may recall visited to introduce our charity, Help for Heroes, will be bringing a selection of artefacts into school from the period. He will also join some of the children for the daily mile, putting his ex-drill sergeant skills to good use while teaching the children the disciplines of marching. Look out for the pictures in next week's edition of the Echo.
Have a lovely weekend and if you're out and about Christmas shopping, take care.

The Salvation Army and Leeds Carers will be distributing your kind donations. Please bring any donations to the school office no later than Friday 29 November.
Attendance Takes a Dip!
Well done to those children with great attendance and congratulations to Year 3, who are our attendance champions this week with 100%.
KS2 Computing Club with Mr Browning
The club will cost 50p per session and be on a first come first serve basis. If your child is interested, please ask them to inform Mr Browning as soon as possible.

Site Safety Items
Additionally, I've been liaising with Align Property Services to try and secure lighting for the temporary path as well as the new path around the EYFS area at the front of school. We're hopeful that some temporary lighting will be in place in the next week or so, which should help those using Buddies and those leaving school after clubs on an evening.
