A New Year - A Different Start!
Notes from the Principal
As we prepare to begin this most unusual of school years, many questions remain, and many challenges await. The road ahead is filled with more uncertainties than we have ever faced as a society, much less a school community. However, regardless of what lies ahead, the one certainty I am sure of is that we, the Boone Elementary family, will rise above and we will have a great school year.
There is a wonderful book on leadership which states that one must step back to see the whole picture of an organization, much as one would view a dance floor from a balcony. This is precisely what I have done over the last several months. I gotta tell ya, from what I have seen, Boone’s got rhythm!!! The love, commitment, and dedication this community has for all of our children is truly awe inspiring. We will be successful. We got this!!!!
Student Belongings and Library Book Drop Off
Thank you to all of you who were able to come by this past Monday to get the items that your children had to leave behind back in March. It was so great to see so many of you, if even only from the nose up!!
A huge shout out needs to go to our wonderful Assistant Principal, Kristy Crawford, our fabulous Teaching Assistant Team, and our amazing teachers who organized, planned, set-up, and assisted in this endeavor. You guys Rock!!!
I have had several families contact me because they were not able to come on Monday to get their things. Never fear, you can still pick up your stuff!!
All next week, August 24 – 28 from 8:00am - 2:00pm you can use our drive-up Curbside Service. In order to do this, please enter the front circle drive, and pull into one of the designated "Curbside Service" spaces. Text the number on the sign with the number of the space you are parked in, your student's full name and how we may help you.
For everyone's safety, please wear a mask and stay in your vehicle. We will bring your child’s belongings out to you. We will also have an additional opportunity to get these items on September 2nd when we hold our School Materials Pick-Up. More info is included below.
Save the Date! - Wednesday, September 2nd
To Our Wonderful Boone Families:
On Wednesday, September 2, we will be distributing students’ resources and supplies that will support their learning at home. Each grade level will have a designated time throughout the day to provide an opportunity for distribution of these items.
If you have children in multiple grade levels make sure to let our staff know, and we will be able to grab those materials for you as well. Grade level items will be brought out and placed in your car, and we are asking that you always stay in your car and wear a mask, if you have one available.
We will be working hard to ensure this exchange remains as contactless as possible. As we approach the day, we will be sending out more details and a flyer to provide you the information needed to have a smooth pick-up time for your student(s) learning resources.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

School Supply Lists Updated
We have updated our supply lists on our Boone website. Follow this link to access this new information. We have worked with each grade level this past week to divide the list into two sections. Each list now shows what you will need for online learning and there is an additional list of items you will also need once we move into in-person learning later this semester. We hope this will help you organize the purchase of these items.
