Attendance Matters
Per the Chariho Elementary Attendance Policy, absences, tardies and early dismissals can only be excused due to medical reasons, religious reasons, bereavement or emergency situations. Medical documentations, or excuse from our school nurse, is needed for medically excused absences.
We routinely mail attendance letters to notify parents of attendance concerns and always provide a copy of the attendance record and the attendance policy. If students have more than eight unexcused absences, tardies or early dismissals, you will be asked to attend an attendance meeting. If attendance continues to be problematic, a referral can be made to R.I. Family Court.

Please contact Mrs. Poore if you have questions regarding the attendance policy.

A Way to honor a great teacher!
Recommendations sought for teachers to honor during Teacher Appreciation Week
During this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6), the U.S. Department of Education wants to extend a personal thank you to some great teachers. Help us by recommending a colleague, a friend, your child’s teacher, or the teacher who inspired you. While we cannot guarantee reaching every teacher during the week, we may use submitted information for other highlighting purposes throughout the year.
Crystal Apple Award
Please see the letter that your child will bring home today or or Monday.
Nomination letters or emails are due to Mrs. Poore by May 1st.
