From The Principal
As we head into the new week and approach the upcoming Memorial Day weekend we would like to pause and give gratitude for the life we live today that was provided by the sacrifices of generations before. We are honored to be a part of your lives and journey as you sacrifice for us now and for generations to come.
Some news you can use-
A reminder that this next week is an abbreviated week. School will dismiss at regular time on Thursday (12:15) and we will resume on Tuesday May 30.
Students grades 3-5 are still in the midst of their statewide testing. We thank you for having them present each day and on time. For students that were absent or missed a part of their test they will have the opportunity to make up those tests in the coming days.
A reminder to please fill out the 23/24 enrollment survey below. Even if plans are still up in the air or you are moving please take a moment to fill out the survey so we can best plan for the new school year.
We hope to see many of you at the Tierrasanta community parade this weekend. It kicks off at 10:00. You will get the chance to wave and say hello to many of our students and staff that will be part of the parade. It is a wonderful community event and a big neighborhood party.
Please have a look through our Lost and Found bin. All items that remain on the last day will be donated locally. Come find that lost jacket, water bottle or lunch box that has been missing!!
See below for a new preschool program that will be added to the Miller campus beginning next year. The flyer has details. Priority registration begins on June 1.
Have a wonderful weekend.
2023-24 Kindergarten and New Student Enrollment is Now Open
2023-24 Kindergarten and new student enrollment is now open. Online Registration is only available for students new to SDUSD. Registration packets are also available for pickup in the front office. Enrollment hours will be 8:00am-2:00pm. All new students will need to provide birth certificate, proof of residency, and up-to-date immunizations. Students who are currently in UTK and will be returning to Miller for Kindergarten do not need to register again. For further questions, please email our School Clerk, Leila Raher at LRaher@sandi.net.
Patriot Parade of Tierrasanta
Last weekend the Kiwanis Club and our community, Tierrasanta, came together to hold its 35th annual Patriot's Day parade. Our 5th-grade safety patrol and our 4th-grade trainees represented Miller Elementary. Thank you to all parents who were able to have their children attend on a Saturday morning.
The Patriot Day Parade served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our brave servicemen and women, both past and present. Our students' involvement in this event not only showcased their respect and appreciation for our country but also demonstrated their commitment to community involvement and civic responsibility.
At this event, we also wanted to recognize our teacher of the year, Mrs. Kincaid, for all of the sincere efforts that she puts into each day of her teaching. She has a wonderful rapport with her students and we are grateful to her as a part of our staff.
Thank you to all who came out to celebrate. It was a fun event and the children who participated really had a great time celebrating the heroes of our country.
