Office 365 Manual Install for Teacher and Administrative Computers

If the computer image does not have Software Center and the user is unable to update their computer by following the directions provided in Installing Office 365 & Office 2016, then you will need to install it for them. The instructions are below. The entire process will take about 20 to 30 minutes, during which time you will not have access to Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

This process should be run on teacher and administrative computers only. Do not run on student or lab computers at this time.

Step 1: Uninstall all versions of Microsoft Office

Step 2: Install Office 365

Make Bing your search engine

Make MSN your browser homepage

  • Click "Install Now"

Step 3: You are all set

  • 'Your all set! Office is installed now' will appear
  • Click Close
  • Go to 'Start' and select 'All Programs then 'Outlook 2016'

Step 4: Activate Office

Step 5: We Need a Little More Help

  • Select Work account

Step 6: First Things First (Outlook)

  • Click 'Accept'

Step 7: Select Office 365 Account Type

  • A GCCISD account has already been created for you
  • Select 'Work or school account'

Step 8: Login to Office 365

  • User Name: full primary email address
  • Password: Same as your computer login
  • Click 'Sign In'

What happens when I get this notification while trying to check email?

When you change your password, you must update your Outlook security Window.
