MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL LAMBERT
Dear Mariano Castro Parents,
As report cards come out this week, it is an important time to help your child focus on what has gone well so far this year and to set goals for the next couple of months. Both short-term and long-term goals help students to be motivated and feel a sense of purpose. Even if their goals change frequently, research shows us that it is the ability to set a goal that helps them to be successful throughout school and in their future. Please take some time to have conversations with your children about their goals for their near future and for when they are older.
Here at school, students set goals for their success on assignments and on assessments. When they look at their results they reflect on what they did well and what they would like to improve for next time. You have probably seen these goal binders during Back to School night or at parent conferences.
By emphasizing goals both at school and at home, the children develop this skill of goal setting until it becomes second-nature to be a positive, forward-thinking individual!
Best Regards,
Theresa Lambert, Principal
Mariano Castro Elementary
