Some of my path can be found here.
I use LinkedIn rarely since I am a freshmen and only 14. I am not old enough to get a job, I am interested in getting a job when i'm old enough. Which is why i try to update my profile as much as i can, in order to help me when i'm older.
This website have impacted my digital footprint in a very positive way, it will help me get a job and have a good way to create a rough resume.
YouTube
One could so I live in YouTube as I am on there very frequently. What i watch varies, it can be funny videos, scary videos, vlogs and sometimes educational videos. I have never posted a video on YouTube all though i have a channel with people who subscribe to me for some unknown reason. YouTube has not really impacted my digital footprint because I have never posted a video or made a comment so there really is no true path but a bunch of videos.
I have only used twitter a limited amount of times. With what i have done on Twitter, it has impacted me in a very positive way. I helped publicize a Food drive campaign, which ended up receiving quite a lot of publicity and ended in a large success.
What impact does/can your footprint have on your future?
My digital footprint can have a very positive impact on my future, it can help me find a job, show my positive impact in the community and so much more. Overall when some looks at my footprint it wont show negative things but instead positive things that can help me in life.
What’s helpful and why?
Overall LinkedIn and Twitter are most helpful because they can help me find jobs and they show my positive impact on my community. This is very important because the world is a hard place and i will need all the help i can get.
What’s harmful and why?
The only thing that could be remotely harmful is YouTube. The only reason it could be remotely harmful is because the videos i sometimes watch are just funny and not really important to helping me. Overall I have a clean and safe digital footprint.
What can you do to continue to improve your online identity?
I can post more on Twitter and be more active since i have only made a few posts about the same thing which is the food drive. I could also work on my LinkedIn account more to further explore potential paths that could help me in life.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned this semester about maintaining a positive Digital Footprint?
I think the most important thing i learned this semester about maintaining a positive digital footprint is the positive outcomes it could have in my future. I do not want my named search and have inappropriate or negative things about me come up.
